New Students’ Orientation Evening 2021 – 2022
The New Students’ Orientation Evening was held successfully on Thursday 20th August. It was the first face-to-face event of the new school year.
The purpose of the evening was to provide parents with more information about different areas of school life. Our new Principal, Ms. Diana Lo, introduced the school’s vision and mission and core values, and described the unique features of the YHKCC. She also encouraged parents to vaccinate their children so that full-day school could resume as soon as possible. Members of the school’s Leadership Team shared more details about the academic curriculum, student wellbeing, general matters and extracurricular activities. The feedback received from parents and students about this event was very positive.
Parents also attended a workshop, where they learned how to access and use the school’s virtual learning environment, SEQTA. The parent’s portal is called SEQTA Engage and it is an excellent platform for facilitating and enhancing communication between the school and parents. We trust that all parents will use SEQTA Engage on a daily basis to support their children’s learning. (Parents who were not able to attend New Students’ Orientation Evening can check the invitation email, which includes a step-by-step guide to the registration process.) A new online attendance checking system was also introduced during the workshop. This enables parents to easily check the arrival time and departure time of their children
