A WELL RESOURCED GREEN LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
The school is fortunate to be located in a beautiful part of Lantau Island where we enjoy fresh breezes from the leafy hillsides that surround the school. The spacious campus and generous-sized classrooms are augmented by specialist rooms including a black box theatre, a fine art centre and drama room. We also have a campus TV studio, student learning centre, a number of science and computer laboratories. The school has good I.T. equipment and a canteen with on-site kitchen. | ![]() |
We have exceptional sports facilities including an artificial turf pitch, multi-purpose sports field, a four-lane 100 metre running track and a long jump sand-pit and a well equipped fitness room. A two storey Music Bock & Promenade houses more music studios and other innovative amenities to further facilitate an all-round and aesthetic educational for students.
At the YHKCC, our sustainability education programme is designed to foster an understanding of the delicate balance between human wellbeing and the natural environment, aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by UNESCO. This initiative is built on three fundamental pillars: environmental, social and economic sustainability.
The YHKCC Sustainability Development Committee, comprised of eight dedicated teachers from the academic, student activities and general affairs sectors, plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainability education through the following strategies:
-
Community Integration: We strive to embed environmentally friendly practices and principles into the school’s operations, cultivating a culture of sustainability within our community.
-
Responsible Citizenship: As educators, we prepare and empower students to become responsible, environmentally conscious global citizens through a variety of engaging student activities.
-
Academic Empowerment: We equip students with essential knowledge, critical thinking skills and sustainability-oriented mindsets through diverse subject engagements and enriching learning experiences.
Currently, the YHKCC is proud to be a member of the Alliance of Sustainable Schools and has established the ‘TASS Ambassadors,’ a student-led extra-curricular group. This team organizes a range of activities to promote appreciation for nature and environmental stewardship, including interactive game booths at school fairs, an initiative for collecting unwanted uniforms, and participation in inter-school schemes and competitions. These activities enable students to actively engage in meaningful actions that contribute to both community and environmental development.
Additionally, the school arranges academic field trips for all grade levels, providing students with firsthand opportunities to explore and learn about local environmental initiatives and developments.
Through this structured approach, the YHKCC aims to cultivate a culture of sustainability and empower all members of the school community to contribute positively to the environment.
