The new canteen is operated by Chartwells under the Compass Group Hong Kong, an internationally renowned corporation with extensive experience in providing quality food to students in Hong Kong and different parts of the world. The company has a good track record in serving quality on-site cooked meals and food to private, DSS and international schools in Hong Kong. Every school day, a team of Chartwells chefs prepares wholesome and tasty breakfasts, snacks and lunches. The lunch menu has been thought through by the company’s registered dietitian. A variety of well-designed, high-standard and healthy food options catering to different tastes will be offered to students and staff of the YHKCC. The Chef’s Special, which has premium ingredients and condiments in the lunch menu, will be available every day. To emphasize the importance of nutrition and a healthy diet, a “Traffic Light Guide” will be used to guide and help students in making healthy choices. |

In addition to providing and running an on-site kitchen, Chartwells will conduct various educational talks over the next three years, including a workshop on nutrition, to educate students about good diet, healthy eating attitudes and behaviour.
