Life-wide Learning Week

In mid-October, the YHKCC organized a series of Life-Wide Learning Camps and activities for students in each form. The activities were designed to enable students to extend their learning in real contexts and authentic settings outside the classroom. This approach facilitates whole-person development and nurtures their capability for lifelong learning.

Students in Forms 1 and 2 had the chance to participate in various sporting activities, including curling, rowing, archery, hockey and also dragon boat riding, with the help of some YHKCC alumni. Form 3 students experienced camping with a campfire and outdoor activities. Students in Form 4 participated in bouldering activities in an indoor environment, challenging themselves both mentally and physically.

Form 5 students were engaged in workplace visits to destinations including Cathay Pacific City, allowing them to explore the heart of one of the world’s leading airlines. They also visited Hong Kong Disneyland to get a closer look at the daily operation of cast members; visited Decathlon Hong Kong to learn about a working environment packed with fitness gear and outdoor adventures. There were also visits to DLN Architects Limited, the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Form 5 DSE Citizenship & Social Development Field Trip to Shenzhen, Guangdong.

To enhance students’ wellbeing, the school organized a Retreat for Form 6 students. They also had the opportunity to participate in a Graduation Trip to Ocean Park and a Mind Over Stress Day, which included mindfulness reading and a session on effective learning strategies, ending in an action planning session with Heads of Department.
