"Taking Off‧Inspiring at Tung Chung" Community Caring Partnership Project
Our Art & Music students were honoured to be invited to participate in the Community Caring Partnership Project organized by the Tung Chung Healthy & Safe City. The project aims to encourage the collaboration and promotion of music and art activities with various parties in the Tung Chung community.
Kiranpreet Sekhon (3Y), Jasmin Smallu (3Y), Lin Nutnicha (3Y), Iesha Faisal (3Y), Rashi Gupta (3M) and Yusuf Mohideen (5M) spent two days under the guidance of a distinguished artist, Mr. Lam Yuk Fai and two professional artists to paint on a grand piano. ‘Love and Happiness’ was the main theme, aiming to spread love and happiness from Tung Chung to Hong Kong and also to the rest of the world. The design on the piano displayed the beauty of local landmarks, such as sunset in Tung Chung, the Hong Kong International Airport (with an aeroplane taking off hidden inside the piano lid!), festive fireworks and stunning skyline in the evening. Our students not only learned how to apply the impressionist painting techniques on a three dimensional work, but also enjoyed the time painting with the professional artists.
On 14th November, Winni Wong (2M) and Eito Yoshida (2H) performed with the newly decorated piano and along with Donald Mak (5C) on the violin at the launching ceremony at the Hong Kong International Airport. They were privileged to perform with world renowned pianists in the same event. Positive feedback and encouragement were received from the guests.
The decorated piano will be displayed in the Hong Kong International Airport until February 2018.
