Islands District Long Distance Running Competition 2018
The Islands District Long Distance Running Competition 2018 was successfully held on 4th March at our school campus. This is the third year running that our school has housed the competition. The event was organized by the Hong Kong Association of Youth Development (Islands District) and co-organised by 7 organizations including our school. More than 30 YHKCC’s students, teachers and parents participated in the event.
We are proud that our students achieved brilliant results while our teachers and parents also obtained very encouraging achievements. Overall we had seven students, two teachers and one parent who have got into Top 10 in their corresponding category. They were all awarded medals and received rounds of applause for their great achievements. Vinary (4K) won the 1st ruuner-up of 5km race for Male under 15. Our teacher Mr. Billy Tsang bought home the championship of 10km race for Male Open group.
It was a wonderful experience for our students, teachers and parents to join the event. We even had our 4 people K-pop Dance Crew and two vocalists performing before the prize presentation ceremony. At the end of the race, Mr. Billy Tsang was pleased to share that ‘This is my first year to teach in the school and enter the Islands District Long Distance Running Competition. It's my pleasure to be the 10km Open Champion. The Competition is well organized and I am excited to see many students, teachers and parents to join the race, Hope to see everyone next year!”
