Humanities Week
The Humanities week was successfully held from 6th to 9th March with a range of activities. The week first kicked off with a talk “Save the World”, revolved around being more aware and making responsible decisions to make our world a better place to live. A guest speaker from the Free Seas organization was invited to speak about the impacts of plastics on our environment and how to make a positive change by using less plastics and buying more reusable goods.
Another activity was demonstrated by the Humanities teachers to prepare tasty vegetarian cuisines from around the world with an emphasis that great food can be cooked without affecting the animals that live with us. “The hidden truth” was an activity to reveal some hidden facts in our daily life. For example, all the products that we use are with palm oil; a farmed oil from trees planted in what used to be jungles for hundreds of thousands of animal species and so on. Lastly, Mr. Hall awed us with his game show presence with an environmental pop quiz.
We were glad to see the active participation of students and the great interest and curiosity shown to strive for knowledge to get a better understanding on how to save the earth.
