Watoto Concert
Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled internationally since 1994 as ambassadors to raise awareness about the plight of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Africa. Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through their stories, music and dance. This year we are very honored to have the Watoto Choir visit our school and host a special assembly on 14th November for us.
During the assembly, the choir performed several worship songs and initiated interactive activities with our students. One of the children representatives shared his difficulties and how God had changed his life with us. In the end, the founder of Watoto Pastor Gary encouraged students of YHKCC to be future leaders and prayed for everyone.
After school, a football friendly was held between the school’s football team, Watoto children's team and the All Black FC. The club reaches out to African refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong in a bid to integrate them into the community. We are glad that football connects different ministries in all parts of the world together on such a meaningful occasion.
To raise money for Watoto, a Casual Dress Day was held on the same day where students dressed in black, yellow and red to represent the colors of the Ugandan flag. A total of HK$18,051.8 was raised.
We would like to express sincere gratitude to all donors for their support. We wish Watoto Children's Choir and All Black FC every success in their future endeavors.
