YHKCC Entrance Mural by The Visual Arts Department and Visual Arts students
In June last year, the Art department decided to create a mural to cover the planters by the entrance to school. Form 4 Visual Art students were set the task of designing the mural. This was a challenging task as angles and perspective came into play as the planters were not a flat wall space. All the design entries from the F4 students presented very strong ideas and followed the theme of ‘Faith, Hope and Love’ that celebrated YHKCC’s morals. The design by Diana De Silva was selected in which a clever placement of the letters that change their appearance as you walk by the planters.
Ms. King sourced an environmentally paint company, Eico, in Hong Kong that is well known for providing paint for large commissioned art works around Hong Kong. Their tag line is ‘Paints that don’t cost our earth’.
Many students volunteered to help to paint the mural in their spare time after school and at the weekend. They all did such a great job! Please applaud the following students for delivering such a meaningful achievement:
