Higher Education Preparation Day
The Higher Education Preparation Day was held on the 30th June. The event was organised to guide the Form 5 students to prepare for their higher education decisions approaching their final year through a variety of sessions and activities.
The morning session started with encouraging words shared by Mr. Dion Chen and Mr. Andrew Higgins to set the tone for the day. The programme continued with an introductory talk by guest speakers and alumni at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Students also underwent a workshop for writing their personal statements catering for both HKDSE and GCE A-Level university applications.
The afternoon programme was filled with breakout sessions by a total of 24 guest speakers representing different local and international universities, educational institutions and YHKCC alumni. Students were invited to join sessions of their interest which ranged from business, law, science, engineering and many more. Students were also treated to stress-relieving activities like meditative colouring, photography, and free writing in the middle of the day for relaxation.
The event ended with an inspiring conclusion by Mr. Andrew Higgins, encouraging students to bring their new learnings and realisations into building a better path towards their future.
