Pickleball Class by YHKCC-OIWA Academy

On 4th July, the YHKCC - OIWA Elder Academy organized a pickleball class for the elderly at the campus.  The pickleball coach, Mr. Lee together with our students from the Community Service Club, introduced and demonstrated pickleball game to the elderly and played with them in the fantastic weekend morning.

Pickleball is a fun, paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table-tennis. It is played with a whiffle ball on a badminton-sized court and a tennis-style net. The sport is suitable for all ages and skills levels since the rules are simple and game is easy for beginners to learn. Therefore, it has been widely accepted in school gyms and community centers. It is a good choice to develop social circles among friends.

All the buddies enjoyed the interactive game and actively participated in the practice. Moreover, the sport class provided a good platform to create a strong bond between the youth and the elderly in the community. The YHKCC - OIWA Elder Academy will continue to run a variety of activities for the elderly to sustain life-long learning and inter-generational harmony.
