4th Annual Swimming Gala
The Swimming Gala was successfully held at the Tsing Yi Swimming Pool on 14th May 2010. It was a sunny day. The gala provided a good opportunity for both teachers and students to stay away from classes to relax themselves in sports and exercises. The Opening Ceremony started at 8:40 am and the platform party marched to the pool area with high spirit. Mr. Chris Robershaw led a prayer, followed by bible reading and athletes’ oath. Then, our Principal, Dr. Nick Miller, formally declared the start of the school’s 4th Annual Swimming Gala.
The Inter-house relay events brought the gala to its climax. Not only did the house members show their skills, but also their teamwork and sportsmanship were enhanced. They demonstrated excellent performance with strong encouragement by the cheering teams from the spectator stands.
Last but not the least, the Closing Ceremony began with the closing words from our Principal and then followed by a speech from our Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Douglas Oxley. The presentation of prizes was the most exciting moment of the day. The overall champion went to Williams House.
