Graduation Ceremony 2010

The Graduation Ceremony of YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College was successfully held on 29th May 2010 for Form Five and Form Seven graduates. The Honourable Mr John C. Tsang, JP, Financial Secretary, HKSAR Government and The Rev. Bartholomew Ma, Priest-in-charge of the Church of the Epiphany, HKSKH were invited as the Guests-of-Honour for the ceremony. Mr. Patrick Yip, President of YMCA of Hong Kong; Mr. Douglas Oxley, Chairman of School Management Council of the school, Dr. Nick Miller, Principal and Mr. Albert Lee, Deputy Principal were the platform party.

 

Dr. Nick Miller, the principal, shared his joy and happiness with the graduates and their parents in this remarkable occasion. He emphasized that the young graduates would serve our community in future and they would play an important role in creating a better future for Hong Kong. He presented the school report of last year and shared the school culture as well as the School Development Plan with the attendants.

 

Dr. Miller remarked that extra-curricular activities were also important in nurturing and developing students' talents apart from academic development. To achieve this goal, the school would upgrade the facilities to offer a full range of activities to the students so that they could develop their talents in the fullest.

 

The Hon. Mr. John C. Tsang was pleased to attend this ceremony to share the happiness with the parents and graduates. He remarked, “YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College is a campus with cultural diversity that the teachers and students of different nationalities and cultural background can learn and appreciate each other.” He encouraged the graduates to be self-motivated and continue to have life long learning even after graduation. Mr. Tsang addressed the school and presented the certificates and awards to Form 5 and Form 7 graduates and those who had obtained outstanding achievement in their studies.

 

Students also celebrated this jubilant event with music performances including strings performance, praise band performance, choir, orchestra ensemble, harp solo and a Broadway style musical.

 

Last but not the least, two graduate representatives from Form 5 and Form 7 delivered their vote of thanks to conclude the ceremony.
