The 9th Annual Sports Day
The Annual Sports Day has been one of the most important and welcomed sports event of the school year. The 9th Annual Sports Day of YHKCC was successfully held on 17th and 28th November 2011 at the Tsing Yi Sports Ground. The Sports day was filled with various events, ranging from sprint to relay race to high jump to shot put.
The athletes and cheerleading team of the four houses: Chambers, Morrison, Taylor and Williams contributed points to their Houses in the events in which they participated. The whole sports ground was filled with house spirit.
The House cheerleading competition was the highlight of the Day. All cheering team members dressed up and performed flawless stunning moves and cheered in chorus or in unison. The eventual winner was Taylor House. Our athletes also achieved amazing results with 38 school records being broken, 137 events met the inter-school standard and 3 of the records broken as well.
At the end of the Sports Day, after all the house points being summed up, Morrison House won the championship. Mr. Ray Purvis, CEO of YMCA of Hong Kong, was our guest of honour and he gave his speech encouraging students of the spiritual as well as a physical race that we are running. He also presented trophies to individual champions.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the support and contribution of all teachers and student helpers in this event, and to the many parents who came to encourage their sons and daughters in their competitions
