A different kind of love on Valentine's Day

The YHKCC's Blood Donation Day was held on 14th February at the school hall.  It attracted a total of 123 participants including senior form students, teachers and staff.  They experienced the special blood donation atmosphere in Valentine's Day.

Blood donation has become a regular event on the school's calendar.  Students, teachers and staff showed their enthusiasm, love and care for the community by giving their precious blood in this event.  Some of the Form 4 students were first time donors.  They expressed their feeling after donating blood, said, "We have never given blood before.  Although, we don't enjoy the feeling of having a needle stuck in our arm, however, it is an amazing feeling knowing you're saving the life of three people.  We can't wait to give again.  We think everyone should do it!"

Mr. Dion Chen, Acting Principal of YHKCC, expressed his gratitude and thanks, said, "I would like to thank all enthusiastic blood donors involved in this event.  Valentine's Day is a day of sharing and showing our love to a special someone.  There can be no better means of expressing love to another especially on a unique way like Valentine's Day than donating one's blood to support the patients in need.  Blood donation is also one of the greatest gifts to mankind.  It may only be a pint of blood for you, but for a patient in need, it can mean the difference between life and death.  Let's spread our love and concern to them."

We sincerely thank all the blood donors in this event and we look forward to seeing more and more students and teachers next year!
