Glutinous rice dumpling making organized by the Chinese Society
On 27th November, the Chinese Society held an exciting glutinous rice dumpling (Tang Yuan) making activity. Students gathered in the Home Economics room and made Tang Yuan for their first time.
Students made plenty of delicious black sesame-filled glutinous rice dumplings served with ginger and sugar soup. Some students even made use of chocolate as filling to show their creativity.
Tang Yuan has a long history in China and it represents family union. Chinese have Tang Yuan in some festivals like Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival. It was a very enjoyable activity that some students brought their “masterpieces” to share with their family members!
