The International Fun Fair of YHKCC was successfully concluded with rounds of applause on 13th December at the school campus, attracting a record high of more than 4400 visitors celebrating together with great fun and excitement. Over 30 food and bazaar booths were set up at the campus and more than 400 underprivileged children and their parents benefited from the complimentary tickets for the afternoon show and cash vouchers we sent out.

This year’s International Fun Fair ran under the theme of “Underwater Odyssey”. NGOs were invited to join and help spread the message of environmental protection. Students in marine animal costumes led visitors all the way through ethnic food, games and shows. There were striking activities for everyone, with Fabulous Ethnic Foods, Bazaar & Face Painting, Photo-taking with Ponies, Bouncy Castle, Art Fair and a wide variety of game booths and shows.

Ms. Jade Lai, the Political Assistant to Secretary for Labour and Welfare, was present as the Guest of Honour at the Dedication Ceremony together with Mrs. Sheila Chuang, SMC Member; Mr. Peter Ho, School Supervisor; Mr. Robert Jang, Mr. Edwin Ho, Mr. Joshua Jenner and Mr. Dion Chen, Principal to unveil the treasure box and joined a traditional Spanish fun activity “Piñata”.

The International Talent Shows received the highest accolade. It was a show of colours, costumes, creativity and innovation, featuring dance performances from different countries, including China, India, The Philippines, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, USA, Nepal, etc. Many talented student singers and musicians from different countries performed a variety of international music and songs.  Students also demonstrated the school’s value about multi-cultural diversity through a unique YHKCC Ethnic Fashion Cat Walk. The shows were well received with full house attendance.

On the food booth plaza, visitors were able to savour cuisines from all over the world, such as Irish potatoes, Italian pizzas, Japanese oden, Korean noodles, Chinese dumplings, Christmas cookies and many more. The visitors enjoyed the food while listening and watching a variety of music and dance performances on the ground floor. They could also do their shopping in the bazaar area or watch the exhilarating volleyball and football friendly matches in the fields.
