2015 Islands District Cheering Team Competition Championship
The Phoenix Cheerleading Team has once again made history in being the 6-time champion of the 2015 Islands District Cheering Team Competition at the Tung Chung Man Tung Road Sports Centre on February 14, 2015. Besides, being the champion of Islands District, we also won the Invitational Competition, bringing home 2 championships in a day.
Though the competition didn't start until 2:00pm, the supporters for Phoenix already started filling the Stadium at 1:00pm. As the standard of Cheerleading among Islands schools has grown over the years, Phoenix was faced with the toughest competition this year. When Phoenix took the floor at around 2:45pm, the entire Sports Centre was in uproar. The Phoenix members gave their best as the crowd cheered them on.
After all 6 teams from the Islands District had their performance completed, , Phoenix was among the top 2 teams qualifying for the Invitational Competition that followed straight after. Still keeping their energy, Phoenix gave another stunning performance during the Invitational. Everyone was overjoyed when Phoenix was announced as the champions for both the Islands District and Invitational competitions during the award ceremony.
The team is now preparing for another upcoming competition on March 29 during which Phoenix will be representing the Islands District to compete in the Hong Kong Games 18 Districts Cheering Team Competition.
