Enrichment week - F.2 Discovery Camp
Our Form 2 students went on a special 3day/2night Self-Esteem Discovery Camp from 2nd to 4th July as part of Enrichment Week. The camp was held at the Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp in Sai King, which is located next to the Pak Tam Chung River in Sai Kung.
Our students really enjoyed the camp location, as it is located in an area surrounded by hills and trees and there were lots of room for our young discoverers to enrich themselves with sunshine, fresh air and beautiful scenery.
The focus of the camp was to help students learn how to build self-esteem. Students practiced developing self-esteem through a variety of group activities led by an international team of volunteers from The Vine Church and three student mentors from our school. Pastor Nate Chung of Solomon’s Porch Church also taught about developing self-esteem from a spiritual perspective. Some of the activities included learning Morse Code, T-Shirt design, Mural drawing, African drumming, creating and performing theme-based skits, football and basketball cooperative challenges.
Our students also loved improvisational singing times with a collaborative effort between our students and African drummers. It was a great time! The camp ended with our mentor students sharing how they have grown in confidence in their life and performances from student groups that shared how to build self-confidence.
