F.1 mentorship programme
On 2nd and 3rd December, some prefects (mentors) and F.1 students (mentees) joined an activity called “Dialogue in the Dark.” All the students had an extraordinary experience and were inspired by the activity. The following is the sharing by Charles Chan.
“Darkness will never be taken the same way as I imagined before. The seventy five minutes of darkness with the prefect team taught us how to serve one another in love as we had to help each other out and rely on other senses we could depend on. I have realised that darkness makes us imagine the world in a whole new perspective. We feel more loved when people really hear our voices and respond. Acting with integrity in extreme conditions, staying calm and believing in the school Motto was what led us the way out of darkness.”
Towards the end of this journey, the guide told us that he was visually impaired, that made our hearts cry and realize how someone disabled could lift themselves back up and help the society. This tour ended me with a thought that we shall really care for the less fortunate as ourselves are much more fortunate in the world today, we are capable of reaching beyond our limits”
