Music Contest 2015-2016
The annual Music Contest was successfully concluded on 24th March, 2016. The finalists once again amazed the adjudicators with their musicianship and superstar-like stage presence. The Houses also produced fascinating performances with well-planned song arrangements and choreography, which showed their team spirit and joint effort with their teachers. It is our honour to have a panel of adjudicators including Mr. John Laudon, Mrs. Anne Whitman and Ms. Lorraine Chow. The audience also took part in the vote for the winners of the Audience Choice Awards.
The two rounds of elimination were held at the Music Studio 2 by December 2015. The categories included Vocal Solo, Group, Instrumental and Band. Many friends of the contestants came to support and cheered for them. The high standard of the performances gave a big challenge to the adjudicators to select the finalists.
The Music Contest was first prepared in November 2015. A series of lunchtime performances by the Music Society including the Genesix, Beat Club, Orchestra, Choir and the Chinese Instrumental Ensemble had certainly raised the awareness and passion of our students about the event.
In addition, the joint effort of students and teachers contributing on the Facebook page with comments and videos further enhanced the promotion of it. Special thanks to our F.6 students, Yvonne Fraser and Samuel Castillo, who produced a sensational, stunning music video with the theme of "You Make My Dreams Come True" as well as those who appeared as guest performers in the music video.
We would like to thank all the teachers, supporting staff, janitors and student helpers who supported the event including the sound, lighting and backstage crew, ballot counters, photographers and video team to work hard behind the scene. Most importantly, congratulations to all the contestants who had made their music dreams come true on stage.
