Student-Teacher Conference & Parent-Teacher Conference
The Student-Teacher Conference was held on 4th November. On that day, Class Teachers discussed the Progress Reports with each of their students individually for approximately 10 – 15 minutes. Immediately after the meeting with the Class Teacher, students went to the Student Learning Centre (SLC), Studio 1 or Room 212 to reflect and evaluate on their performance in the first two months of school, and set themselves specific targets for improvement in each of their subjects. Heads of Year also met and further discussed with each student about their reflection and new targets for the next report. We aim to help students to review and reflect on their learning progress regularly and continue to help them to strive for excellence academically.
The Parent-Teacher Conference for all Forms was organized and held in the afternoon of Friday, 4th November, and the morning and afternoon on Saturday, 5th Nov. Many parents from all Forms came in the two days to meet with teachers. This time, we had the walk-in session in the afternoons of Friday and Saturday from 4:00pm – 5:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm respectively. More parents came during the morning on Saturday with appointments.
Parents found the interactions fruitful and productive, as parents were able to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their child at school in different subjects. Pleasant comments and appreciation were made regarding teachers to spend weekends at school giving out useful remarks and suggestions about the learning of their children. Parents appreciated the extra support that has been given to them and to their child. We aim to continue to work with parents closely to support our children academically and enhance their learning experience.
