School Visit by Jintang Country Gangqing School, Sichuan China
A group of 7 students and 5 teachers from our sister school, Jintang County Gangqing School, Sichuan, China (Jintang School) visited us from 7th to 12thMarch for an academic and school life experience exchange. Jintang School, which is in Chengdu, is one of the schools sponsored by the YMCA of Hong Kong.
On arrival on 7th March, a warm welcome was given by our Principal, Mr. Dion Chen, and then the representatives of Jintang School were introduced during our student briefing. After that, YHKCC students paired up with the Jintang students to tour around the spacious campus and experience the international learning environment. The Jintang students were all impressed by our cultural diversity.
On 7th, 8th and 10th March, the Jiantang students were fully indulged in our interactive and student-oriented lessons. They all had a great time with fruitful learning experiences. In the morning on 9th March, Jintang students visited the YMCA organic farm to experience farming in order to have a better understanding of the environmental development in Hong Kong. They all had great fun. In the afternoon, they went to the YMCA community service center in Cheung Sha Wan to deliver local community service, including serving children from the underprivileged families. On 11th, a group of F.4 YHKCC students who are studying Tourism and Hospitality Studies, took the Jintang students out to sightsee Tsim Sha Tsui and Central. They visited the Hong Kong Gallery Museum, tasted different kinds of local food and enjoyed the bus and ferry rides. .
It was an excellent experience for both schools and we all look forward to the next exchange.
