Food Props Workshop
The Art department was pleased to invite Mr. Paul Chen from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) to lead an after school workshop where students learned about the techniques involved in making props.
Students had a go at making food props under the guidance of the expert. Students learned a variety of sculptural and three-dimensional techniques and learned how to adapt those to suit the piece they wanted to make. Food props were made from materials such as foam and latex and then were painted with acrylic paint. There were lots of tips and ideas shared in order to make the food look as real as possible. Students from Forms 1-5 attended and senior form students are now adapting those techniques in their IGCSE, GCE and DSE projects.
