Trip to the HKMA

On 16th June, Form 4 Business Studies students went on an educational visit to The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Information Centre. The tour provided the students with knowledge of the main policy objectives of the HKMA and explained how the HKMA carries out its functions.

The tour was divided into three sections:

  • The Policy section explained the work of the HKMA and related financial concepts;
  • The Currency section traced the development of money and banking in Hong Kong and shows examples of coins and notes used over the years in and around Hong Kong;
  • The Historical Timeline section highlighted Hong Kong's monetary and banking history.

The aim of the trip was to enhance the learning outcomes of GCE Business Studies and can be referred back to when students study monetary policy. It was a fruitful and informative trip for the students.
