Prize Giving Ceremony

The school’s Annual Prize Giving Ceremony to celebrate students’ academic achievements was held on 6th July. Our School Supervisor, Mr. Peter Ho, member of the SMC, Ms. Julia Ong, attended the Ceremony as our Guests of Honour.

Principal, Mr. Dion Chen, welcomed all parents and guests to share with all students their academic achievements this year. Students are either top in their subjects in their form or are the top three or most improved student in their form or class respectively. They have done a lot throughout the year to maintain their standards and out-performed their peers in the subject areas. Mr. Chen encouraged all students to set higher standards for themselves and work equally hard, if not more, in the coming school year and would like to see all of them the same time next year.

Mr. Ho shared with the students that the important part of school life is for them to enjoy their studies, enjoy what is good in them because only in enjoying their studies that they could sustain their interest and effort in their work. They should not stop in just pursuing their academic achievements and be satisfied, for what they have received are from God and it is meant for them to give to others who are less fortunate than them. For the Bible says “Freely you have received, freely you give (Matthew 10:8)”.

Mr. Ho, Ms. Ong, the Leadership Team and Heads of Department took turn in presenting prizes to all students, and parents and guests crowded at the front of the stage to take photos of their sons and daughters who in turn came on to the stage to receive the congratulation and recognition of their achievements.

Students also celebrated this jubilant event with music performances, including the praise band performance, choir, orchestra ensemble, and a team of students playing the drums in leading the guests out of the hall in the recession. Refreshment was served in the covered-playground with delicious food and dessert. Besides students and teachers, the Ceremony was well attended with over 300 parents and friends.
