The PERMA Model

Positive Education: The PERMA Model

At our school, we believe that education extends beyond academics; it encompasses the holistic development of each student’s wellbeing. Our Positive Education initiative is designed to cultivate a thriving school environment where students can flourish emotionally, socially and academically.

By incorporating the PERMA model – developed by renowned positive psychologist Martin Seligman – we aim to enhance the overall wellbeing of our students through a focus on positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishment. This approach empowers students to develop resilience, foster meaningful connections, and find purpose in their learning experiences. Through various activities and programmes, we strive to create a supportive community that nurtures each student’s potential and promotes a culture of positivity.

We are proud to offer a variety of activities that embody the principles of the PERMA model, fostering wellbeing in our students.

Our class teacher period activities, including Collaborate Monday, Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.) Wednesday, Shared-shelf Thursday and Fun Friday, promote engagement and positive relationships.

The Student Wellbeing Centre provides a supportive space for students to explore their emotions and connect with peers.

Additionally, the MindHK iACT Counselling Programme offers vital mental health support, while our Student Support Programmes ensure that every student has the resources they need to thrive.

Together, these initiatives help create a nurturing environment that enhances overall wellbeing and personal growth.
